Paypal to block Safari browser

Two months ago, Paypal’s Chief Information Security Officer recommends everyone who has a Paypal account to avoid using Apple’s Safari browser. They claim that the Safari browser is still way behind in security features compared to latest versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox.

The internet is awash with petitions to remove video from Flickr. As of this writing, the Flickr group We Say NO to Videos on Flickr has 27,000 members, the No Video on Flickr!!! group has 11,500, the No to Videos on Flickr petition has 865 “signatures.”
But why are people rallying against Flickr video?

 Kudos to Shoemart for promoting the recycling of items that otherwise would have gone to the garbage bin and would have contributed to the further deterioration of our environment.
The items that can be brought in are:

Scrap paper and cardboard
Empty ink and toner cartridges
Plastic bottles and plastic scrap
Used lead batteries (from cars, UPS/Voltage regulators)
Aluminum, tin cans, [...]

Dell Global Contact Centers to Close Operations?

A source from inside one of the Metro Manila contact centers of Dell tipped us of an imminent closure of Dell Global Center both in Pasay City and Quezon City. Reasons aren’t clear but it seems that the US recession and weak dollar may have a hand in the decision.

Globe Mobile Internet: 5 Pesos per 15 Minutes

Last Saturday, Globe Telecoms rolled out its new time-based charging for all mobile internet usage — GPRS, 3G, HSDPA. This new charging is now available on all pre-paid and postpaid Globe users - Php 5 pesos for every 15 minutes. Basically, the same charging as Smart 3G’s 10 pesos per 30 minutes.
