3GSM World Congress and Mobile Awards

If you follow mobile news, then you’ve heard of the 3GSM World Congress. It’s the world’s largest mobile industry exhibit, and a meeting point for mobile operators, service and content providers around the world. If you read blogs from telco employees, saying their bosses are away – this is the reason.

Globe has a big print ad today announcing that G-Pass was a finalist in this year’s Globe Mobile Awards. Here’s the list – their name is G-Xchange, the corporate entity Globe put up for G-Cash. Here are the winners. Some of them are products you can buy at a shop. One, ShoZu, you can download and use. Here’s the CEO of Shozu receiving the award from Myla Villanueva, chair of the Mobile Innovation Forum and managing director of Novare Technologies (my employer).

Other Pinoy winners in the past have been: Smart Money (2001), Smart Load (2004), and G-Cash (2005).
