ABS-CBN Gets Multiplied

Multiply Big In The Philippines, Lands Ad Deal – from Web 2.0 news site TechCrunch. The deal is with ABS-CBN.

“Under terms of the agreement, ABS-CBN interactive will sell advertising and mobile services for Multiply’s Filipino users, with the two companies sharing revenues.” What would this possibly mean?

  • Multiply users can advertise on ABS-CBN properties? On Interactive – websites and games? TV and radio slots?
  • Multiply advertisers can advertise on ABS-CBN?
  • ABS-CBN Interactive will create a SMS-based Multiply service on their 2366 shortcode?

A commenter also noted that Multiply is a haven for intellectual piracy. Will media companes go for that?

currently, PinoyExchange is an authorized reseller of Multiply ads. Will ABS now get exclusive rights and move PEx out of the picture?

  4. Yes. I worked on a project with ABS-CBN Interactive back in 2005. Their stuff are too big to outsource outside, I’m sure.
