AOC enters the Android tablet market with a 7 and 8-inch device

AOC, a brand you associate exclusively with monitors recently launched their first Android tablet offering in the country. It seems that AOC has been making Android tablets for quite a while now but it will be the first for them to market it here.

AOC Breeze front

First to arrive is their 7-inch (MW0731+) and 8-inch (MW0831) Android Jelly Bean WiFi-only tablets. Both tablets sport a thin and light body with a brushed aluminum finish at the back.

Powering the tablets is a Rockchip RK3066 1.4 GHz dual-core processor which is the same chip you’ll find on the Alcatel One Touch Tab 7 HD. There’s also a 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage with support for microSD for both tablets.

There are no rear cameras on these tablets and front camera is limited to VGA for the 7-inch and 2-megapixel for the 8-inch. Only the 8-inch has a mini-HDMI port but both supports USB OTG and 3G dongles.

never buy AOC products. madali masira ang products nila tas sobrang pngit ng service centers nila. one time bumili ako ng monitor nila tas after 1 month may dead pixel. tas palaki ng palaki ang dead pixel na yun. dinala namin sa service center nila. tas 1 month pa daw bago namin makuha. so di kami bumili ng bagong monitor kasi hinintay namin yun. after 1 month binigyan nalang kami ng letter na di nila yun pwedeng ayusin kasi kasalanan daw namin kung bakit yun nasira. either nabuhusan daw ng tubig or tinusok ang screen. amp. sayang lang 5 k namin. low quality talaga

I’m using AOC monitor now for 2 years na and have not experience any problems at all. Siguro na tiyempohan mo lang yung may factory defect. Before I purchase an electronic equipment, Iniinspect kong mabuti kahit bagong bukas palang galing sa kahon.

oo nga natiyempuhan lang cguro. pero unfair naman yun di ba. ok na ok sya nung bago palang. tas biglang nagkaroon ng dead pixel after 1 month . tapos di pa nila aayusin. pangit kasi ng after sales service nila eh. kaya galit ako kay AOC. hehe

      • AOC is a better brand compared to a lot of other brands. Kung ako yung customer, di ako papayag na umabot ng 1 month, kaya nga ako bumili kasi kailangan ko tapos di ko magagamit ng 1 month? That’s not acceptable at all kahit saan pa yun. Usually, the indicators are obvious if the product has been tampered with. Your case happened to me with Alcatel & I can say they have the worst st*p*d technicians who will deny & will give lame brainless explanations w/o logics but if cornered in in their own bait, will admit their fault/s.. Will apologize but will do nothing else. That’s what we call a complete bad customer service! They should be shutdown for that!!! Yung sinabi na either nabuhusan ng tubig or tinusok yung screen… What are the concrete proofs? Yung mga incompetent na techs, sasabihin lahat para pumetiks lang at di gawin yung sira. Kala nila lahat ng customers st*p*d f#$% dumb tulad nila. Yung sa Alcatel, pina-refund ko kahit na lagpas na sa 7-day replacement period, kundi i’ll file a suit against them. Nasa akin lahat ng proofs/documents (technical report from their techs admitting their fault), etc. In less than a month, na-refund. As far as I know, walang perfect na always defect-free products. Kahit Apple nga may warranty kasi alam nila yun. On the other side… kung yung customer naman ang nanloko at talagang nag-tamper or nakasira, in all logical & ethical senses, kahit makarating pa sa court, void na ang warranty. Most customers understand that. Kaya nga extra ingat pag w/in the first year kasi bago pa at under warranty.

…Be peaceful but be ready to make war with the bad people to defend our peace.

I bought 3 units of this excellent tablet for my kids (aged 6, 9 & 12). I even bought it brand new (with 1 year warranty at a bargain price of P 3,400.00 at Easy PC (www.easypc.com.ph/‎) in Pasig. Sadly, they said those were just few last items on stock. I ran antutu benchmark & got varying result: 14,000 ++ to 15,000++ surpassing the Cherry Mobile Fusion Bolt (comparing it with the information from others on the Internet). I already gave the tablets to my kids but will get a screenshot or picture of the benchmark when I get the chance to backup my claim.

    Pros:

    - Runs smoothly, no lag/s at all – thanks to the 1.4GHz ARM Cortex A9 Dual-Core Processor, Quad core Mali 400 GPU & 1GB DDR3 RAM (not to forget the Android Jelly Bean OS)

    * Installed Real Racing 3, Fast & Furious 6, NBA 2k14, Dead Trigger 2, Pacific Rim, Prince of Persia, Temple Run 2, Plants vs. Zombies 2, etc. (We might install Need for speed later on as my eldest son requested)
    * My eldest son even downloaded the PSP emulator (it hasn’t been perfected yet & known to only run certain PSP games), games such as Patapon works fine but others either won’t run or slow/very slow/has latency issues.

    - Even at 1024×600 resolution, graphic is good

    * Ran Despicable Me 2 in 720p HD & the result is excellent – picture is nice & there’s no lag/s whatsoever

    - Sound volume is good

    * Volume is usually on 75% & it’s loud enough

    - Construction is solid, sturdy, excellent looking

    * It doesn’t have the look & feel of a cheapo tablet

Other things to consider but not a big deal for us:

    - Only 0.3 megapixel front Camera

    * We have no need for the camera because we have other gadgets/computers to use for video calls (i.e. Skype, YM, Viber), etc.

    - Battery is 3,100mAh – My kids have been playing with the tablet almost non-stop on a weekend for more than 6 hours without charging (it was fully charged when they started using it)

    * This is more than enough time to nicely entertain a kid before charging is required

    - 8GB Internal storage – less than 6GB is available for use.

    * This is more than enough since a lot of apps can be moved to the MicroSD Card

    - TFT screen – would have been better if IPS but we are not complaining. =)

    * This is good enough since my kids don’t share the tablet, viewing angle is not a concern because only one person at a time is using it

My kids are very happy & completely satisfied. They can install & run any Android game. I am more than happy for them, we got the best bang for the buck!!!

    Thanks to AOC!
