ASUS breathes life to netbooks with Flare design concept

ASUS seems to be still far from being done with netbooks as they recently launched three new ones bearing their latest design concept called “œFlare”.

Previous ASUS netbooks have the slim Seashell design and the Flare is the evolution of that. Still slim with nice curves, ASUS’ Flare notebooks sport a colorful metallic paint finish and polished chrome sidings for a more stylish and trendy look.

The Eee PC X101CH looks like your ordinary netbook but packs the new Intel Atom Cedar Trail N2600 processor. What does this mean? It’s more power saving so less heat but still has the power to play Full HD 1080p videos seamlessly. Its body is texturized to give a better grip and feel while having a sleek 1″ thin body makes it easy and light to carry around since it’s just one kilogram.

The X101CH comes in Black and Red and has an SRP of Php13,995 and Php15,995 (with Windows 7 Starter).

  • Intel Atom N2600 1.6GHz
  • 1GB DDR3 RAM
  • 320GB HDD
  • 10.1″ Anti-Glare LED Display
  • 802.11 b/g/n wireless
  • 2x USB 2.0, HDMI, Bluetooth 3.0
  • 0.3 megapixel webcam
  • Php13,995 / Php15,995 (with Windows 7 starter)

ASUS Eee PC 1025C

The ASUS 1025C is very similar to the X101CH but is powered by an Intel Atom Cedar Trail N2800 processor. It also comes with Instant On ““ an attribute that allows user to turn on the PC from sleep in two seconds. It can also go up to 12 hours on a single battery charge.

Asus Eee PC 1225B

My personal choice among the bunch is the Eee PC 1225B which runs on the tried and tested AMD E-450 APU processor which can handle amazing visuals in a low-powered chip. The palm rest and the bezel has this brushed metal accent and it also has that metallic paint finish attribute of the Flare.

Why did Asus priced their “Eee PC 1225B” Php 22,995.00, which is the same same price for HP DM1 2011 Release aka Beats version?

It’s like they’re betting on a losing battle here.

    • Angie

“Beats audio” doesn’t mean anything, I tried their speakers and it still sounds nothing compared to notebook speakers.

Plus this ASUS has TWO USB 3.0 slots, does the HP DMI1 2011 have one?

It looks like 1024 x 600 pa rin yung display ng 10-incher nila. i’d rather go for the 11.6-inch pero sana mas mababa presyo. it’s too much for a netbook.

like ko ung Eee PC 1225B check ko nga minsan sa cyberzone if may available na 😀

22k is too much for a netbook..
