ASUS Eee PC 1001PQ netbook is made for tweens

If your little young man finds the ASUS Disney Netpal too corny, ASUS has introduced the Eee PC 1001PQ 10-inch netbook which he might find more appealing. It’s still geared towards pre-adolescents but without the feature to be laughed at by peers for having a kiddie netbook.

The Eee PC 1001PQ has the seashell design which ASUS is known for its netbooks with a Vibrant Gold color scheme that would surely appeal to youngsters. It also comes with stickers to provide them something to express themselves by customizing their netbook.

A preteen-friendly interface called the Inspirus Desktop is layered over the Windows 7 operating system. It is an icon-based interface designed to simplify Windows tasks and make it easy for your kid to use the netbook.

Aside from the customized desktop, the ASUS Eee PC 1001PQ also comes with built-in parental controls because you don’t want your kid to just visit any site or e-mail just about anybody right?. Parents can also set a schedule or a time restriction so that kids won’t forget that they still need to go out and play.

Under the hood, the Eee PC 1001PQ is just like your ordinary netbook. Intel Atom N450, 10.1-inch LED backlit display, WiFi and built-in 0.3 megapixel camera.

The Eee PC1001PQ is available in select dealer stores for Php19,995 in Vibrant Gold.
