ASUS Transformer AiO, your 18-inch tablet and desktop PC in one package

Can’t decide whether to get a tablet for the kids or a desktop PC for you? Why not have both with the ASUS Transformer AiO desktop PC with an 18.4-inch detachable display that you can treat as a tablet, a very big one that is.

ASUS-Transformer-AiO-1

The ASUS Transformer AiO first and foremost is an All-In-One Windows 8 Desktop PC with an 18.4-inch touchscreen display and wireless peripherals. However, unlike your traditional AiO PC, this one uses a dock which houses its internals like an Intel Core i3 desktop processor, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT730M, and a 1TB hard drive.

Removing the display from the dock transforms it into an Android Jelly Bean tablet. A big one that can stand on its own, or treat it as a surface tablet for kids to play with. A tablet that is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, with 2GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage.

Color us impressed but it doesn’t stop there. You can still use the Android OS while its docked with a switch of a button in case you want to do some serious work on Polaris Office. Consequently, you can also access the tablet’s internal storage while on Windows 8. Then again you can bring the tablet back to your comfortable couch, and with the launch an app, access your Windows 8 via Remote Desktop from the tablet.

It’s amazing how ASUS was able to seamlessly integrate two different OS in one package. You can enjoy the productivity you can get with Windows 8 and at the same time, have access to all those touch-based games from Android when you want to. I tell you, playing Asphalt 7 on the tablet will build the muscles on your arm.
