BBM now available for Android and iOS

Wish you also have a BBM PIN you can share to your BlackBerry-user friends? Well now you can if you’re using an Android or iOS device as BlackBerry just made their popular messaging service available to other platforms.

BBM-for-Android

Before Viber, Line, KakaoTalk, iMessage, and WeChat, BBM or BlackBerry Messenger was the premiere mobile messaging service around and it was exclusive to BlackBerry users. Now, you can enjoy it even on your Android or iOS device. What’s nice about BBM is that it uses a PIN so you don’t have to give out your number or e-mail to your contacts.

BBM is also more than just for sending messages through the internet. You can share files such as photos and voice notes with it. You can also do group chats of up to 30 people. It also features Updates which is like your timeline in Facebook where you can post status updates and messages.

Download BlackBerry on Google Play for Android or App Store for iOS. Beware of the fake ones on Google Play. There’s plenty of them there.

Update (9AM): Turns out that the current BBM in Google Play is not the official one. BlackBerry is going to do a staggered country roll-out soon. Follow @BBM on Twitter for updates.

Sorry to disappoint you but the official app is not yet showing up on Play Store. So it means the link you have there for Play Store is fake. It’s no longer available because Google has deleted the fake ones.
