BlackBerry Curve 9360 now available, gets Php16,990 price tag

width="251"For those who are itching to upgrade their BlackBerry to the new OS 7 but find the BlackBerry Bold 9900 out of their reach, maybe the new Curve 9360 can be a suitable alternative. RIM just announced today the availability of the BlackBerry Curve 9360 which gets an SRP of Php16,990.

Compared to the Bold 9900 though, the Curve sacrificed some key features. It has 800MHz processor instead of at least 1GHz. Its HVGA display is not touchscreen as well. However, compared to the last Curve, it sports a batter 5 megapixel camera, the latest OS 7, and has the same familiar keypad Curve users will feel at home with.

So what do you think of the price? Just right or better wait for it to go down?

BlackBerry Curve 9360 Specs:
2.44″ HVGA + display, 480 x 360 pixel resolution at 246 ppi
800MHz processor
BlackBerry 7 OS
512MB on-board memory, expandable up to 32GB via microSD card
5MP camera, flash, image stabilization, face detection, digital zoom, scene modes and VGA video recording
Assisted, standalone and simultaneous GPS

Should i sell my torch 9800 for this sir calvin?

    • i think all BB users should definitely migrate to OS 7 in the future. If you think you can live without the touchscreen of the torch then go ahead and replace it with the new Curve. or if you have the budget, the Bold 9900 is a much better replacement.

i’ve just found out na 5hrs lang daw battery life nito! OMG

  • I am currenly using Samsung Galaxy Ace. Will it be a wise and practical decision to switch to this phone? I kinda like this Curve 9360 but my worry is that soom RIM will switch their OS to QNX.

    • It depends on your daily use. I’m a HTC Mozart running WP7 and I like it so much but I find a blackberry unit more productive (because of it’s bb social which is very sulit). A price tag of 16,990 is too much I guess. Get a curve 9300 instead and upgrade to OS 6.0. Blackberry is mainly used for messaging because telcos here in the Philippines have BB Services that let’s you use social media sites on a flat rate.

  • or should I better get Samsung Galaxy S 2 instead or wait for the Galaxy Note?

    • well android devices such as the Galaxy S2 and the upcoming Note is more future-proof. we don’t know the plans of RIM eh. who knows maybe the Curve 9360 can be upgraded to their future platform. but if you want to have a phone that you are willing to use for let’s say 5 years then the S2 and Note are the wiser choice.

      • Thanks Calvin!

      • By the way Calvin, I happen to see Blackberry Pearl 3G 9105. Parang maganda sya and since I have no plan of giving up my Galaxy Ace, parang ok if I get the 9105. What do you think? Hope you guys can come up with a review regarding Blackberry Pearl 3G 9105 before I buy it. Thanks.

  • Thanks Technokyle! Yup, I guess you’re right. What made me think to get a blackberry because of access to emails, bbm and stuff. Pag sa android kasi napapagastos ako sa web access eh.

Hmmm… Di ba may bayad din ang pag access sa BBM?

  • Thanks Technokyle! Yup, I guess you’re right. What made me think to get a blackberry because of access to emails, bbm and stuff. Pag sa android kasi napapagastos ako sa web access sa pag access ng FB and Twitter account ko.

may bayad din po yung bbm. bale sya yung papalit dun sa bayad mo sa internet pag android.

  • Prices go down fast, so best wait for the price to go low. 🙂 it’s just a blackberry anyway. 🙂

How is true na 5 hours lang ang battery ng BB 9360? balak ko pa naman bumili!

    • the 5-hour is the talk time.

      • jhed
