GoPro is set to launch its newest action camera, the GoPro HERO4 Session. The GoPro HERO4 Session is the company’s most compact camera yet, featuring a square, cube-like design that’s 50% smaller and 40% lighter than the current HERO4 models. The GoPro HERO4 Session can shoot 1440p @30fps / 1080p @60fps and 720p @100fps videos and capture  8MP photos. It can also do time lapse with intervals set from 0.5 to 60 seconds and can continuously shoot photos at 10 frames per second using Burst mode. Moreover, It has SuperView, Auto-Low Light and ProTune modes for capturing professional-quality videos. Sony Philippines last weekend launched its newest action camera – the 4K Action Cam FDR-X1000V and HD Action Cam AS200V. Teaming up with Ford Philippines, Sony together with media friends and partners drove all the way from Manila to Cavite to test the brand new action cameras at the newly opened Flowhouse Manila. Both the FDR-X1000V and AS200V offer resistance from dust, water and splash, and offer clear and non-shaky shots with its Electronic SteadyShot Image Stabilization with Active mode feature. The 4K Action Cam FDR-X1000V sports a 12.8-megapixel back-illuminated “Exmor R” CMOS Sensor with F2.8 ZEISS Tessar lens. As the name says, it can capture 4K resolution videos using the native XAVC S format and up to 8.8MP photos in 16:9 resolution. The HD Action Cam AS200V, on the other hand, sport the same sensor and lens, but with a lesser minimum focus distance at 30cm. Unlike the X1000V, the As200V only supports rendering HD videos in MP4 and XAVC S file formats. Besides the differences, the two devices sport almost the same internals under the hood. Both are equipped with built-in Microphone and Monaural Speaker,  Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n, NFC for one-touch remote function, embed GPS, IPX4 splashproof rating, and additional underwater and dist resistance when used with a case accessory. The new 4K Action Cam FDR-X1000V is priced at Php 27,999, and comes with free Live View Remote (RM-LVR2) and 16GB Micro SD Card.
