TorrentSpy closes after $110 Million fine

Popular sharing site TorrentSpy closes down after a judgment was handed down in Los Angeles. The site was found guilty of copyright infringement.

Microsoft Windows XP SP3 now officially available

Service Pack 3 of MS Windows XP went out last April 29, but it wasn’t final yet. It was only available in the Windows Download site.
Today, WinXP SP3 is finally available via the Windows Update. You should be getting alerts by now if you have Automatic Updates enabled on your Windows PCs.

Yahoo shares plunge after Microsoft’s withdrawal

Yahoo’s shares tumbled by as far as 20% Monday morning after talks with Microsoft ended. The Redmond giant increased it’s bid from the original $31/share back in January to $33. Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang reportedly was asking $37; Microsoft walked away from the deal.

Globe Mobile Internet: 5 Pesos per 15 Minutes

Last Saturday, Globe Telecoms rolled out its new time-based charging for all mobile internet usage — GPRS, 3G, HSDPA. This new charging is now available on all pre-paid and postpaid Globe users - Php 5 pesos for every 15 minutes. Basically, the same charging as Smart 3G’s 10 pesos per 30 minutes.

Yahoo is wearing Microsoft’s patience. After months of waiting for the decision to agree to the buy-out, the Yahoo Board has not yet decided. Microsoft fired a final warning stating they will take the offer into a proxy-fight and replace the board of directors in order to get a favorable answer.
