Globe is offering a free 30-day trial of its wired broadband packages with no commitment, no hassle, and no charges.

Globe has just introduced a new service call Duo Plan 399, an add-on service to Globe Post-Paid accounts which doubles as a landline number.

Globe launched a new site that offers subscribers a collection of software downloads for their mobile phones or PCs called the AppZone. AppZone will be home to mobile and digital technologies that can help subscribers maximize their mobile experience with Globe.

Red Mobile officially launched its website last Saturday which unveiled the new cellular service from CURE, a 3G licensee bought by PLDT in April this year.

Globe Telecom recently launched a new SMS service that allows Globe prepaid subscribers to send free text messages to family and friends within the Philippines even without prepaid credit load.

Globe Telecom is pushing for the commercial launch of their WiMax service before the end of the 4th quarter of 2008. Globe CEO Gerry Ablaza, Jr. relayed the plans on their latest investor relations report:

It didn’t take that long for Smart to finally offer unlimited 3G to it subscribers. A new Smart Bro plan is now being offered for a flat rate of Php1,500 per month.

Sun Cellular has come out and announced its entry into the mobile 3G market with its Wireless Broadband offering. An unlimited flat-rate account starts at Php999 a month for speeds up to 400kbps and Php1,999/month for the 1.4Mbps connection.
There’s also a 60-allocation for only Php799 but it’s too close to the Php999 unlimited plan. Sun [...]

At midnight tonight, August 22, Globe Telecom will start handing out thousands of iPhone 3G to subscribers who made reservations earlier. During a press briefing earlier this afternoon, Globe assured that they are ready for any possible issues on the launch date.
