Hands On with the Cherry Mobile TEGRA NOTE 7 Tablet

Hands on with the Cherry Mobile TEGRA NOTE 7 Tablet Powered by NVIDIA TEGRA

Cherry Mobile today has launched what is considered to be the fastest 7 inch Android tablet, the TEGRA NOTE 7. Powered by a 1.8 GHz Quad Core NVIDIA TEGRA 4 processor, the TEGRA NOTE 7 boasts of a 72 core GeForce GPU, 1 GB RAM and a 7 inch HD IPS 10 point multi touch display complemented by an NVIDIA DirectStylus making it an ideal tablet not only for gaming and entertainment but also for digital art. We spent some minutes with the TEGRA NOTE 7 during the launch and here are our first impressions.

The Cherry Mobile TEGRA NOTE 7 has wide bezels and front speakers making it significantly broader compared to other 7-inch tablets. The TEGRA NOTE 7 is also hefty but came with curved edges and rubber matte finished back making it fairly comfortable to hold with both hands.

On top of the tablet you can find the power button, 3.5mm audio jack, micro HDMI and micro USB port. At the bottom are the bass reflex port and the stylus compartment.

On the right side is the volume control and micro SD slot. On the opposite side is a slot used to attach the tablet’s cover / stand. In plain sight at the back is the Cherry Mobile TEGRA NOTE logo. Above is the 5 MP camera.

The TEGRA NOTE 7 is built for gaming. Its quad core TEGRA 4 processor coupled with a 72 core GeForce GPU didn’t fail to impress when we tested it with graphic-heavy games including Modern Combat 4 and Asphalt 8, the UI was responsive and we didn’t encounter any lags when playing. Same goes for the tablet’s HD IPS display which provided crisp and sharp images and wide viewing angles.

The TEGRA NOTE 7 scored 34,198 in Antutu.

The TEGRA NOTE 7’s DirectStylus (which is actually a fine-tip passive stylus) performs like an active stylus allowing us to draw lines with different widths depending on the pressure applied to the tablet.

The Cherry Mobile TEGRA NOTE 7 provides high-end gaming performance at an affordable price. The TEGRA NOTE 7 is definitely the best gaming, entertainment and graphic tablet you can buy for Php 9,999.  Watch out for our full review of this TEGRA-powered tablet soon.
