e-Meralco Bill and Online Payments

If some of you still don’t know about it, Meralco (www.meralco.com.ph) has an online account and billing system for their consumers. It’s called the My e-Meralco Bill and it allows you to view your electric bill online, among others.

This is good if you’re always away from home or the electric bill you’re paying is not under your name or address. You can always check on it online. To register your account, you need the Service ID number, Billing Date and amount from your latest statement. You can get all these information from your latest Meralco Billing statement.

Once enrolled, you are able to see a PDF equivalent of your bill, subscribe to alerts for new bills or overdue bills and get contact information or support from their 24 hour call-center.

Since I already enrolled my Meralco bill with BPIExpressOnline, I am able to check for the exact amount and send the payment via BPI. Take note that in order to complete the payment, you need to input the exact amount and the unique 5-digit number found in your e-billing statement.

Though the system does not provide a way to pay for your electric bill, it’s nice to know that Meralco has this system in place. They might want to check-out the list of locally available payment solutions from my previous post.

I wonder why PLDT does not have the same? With their 171 number always busy, I’m sure an online account and support system will be a good bump up the pogi points. Oh, wait, how can I send a support ticket if my PLDT DSL is down? :D

  1. 171 isnt busy :) you just have to try applying for a new line all the time, fastest response

  2. hahaha! I tried that too!

  3. Funny, e-Meralco is also the name of their telecom subsidiary. They have fiber optic infrastructure riding on the power line right of way, which they resell to telcos and large corporate customers.

  4. id been using this service over a year now, and guess what some banks (like union bank) use the printed PDF bill document when u pay ur bills over the counter….. unlike bayad center (they need the barcode part of the billing statement)

  5. im working abroad The only way to see my family is thru internet. my neighbor did not pay for almost 3 months. they cut the sevices. ok its fine my problem is they cut yhe srvices toghther our line.. we are paying up to date for almost 25 years.. can u check it immediately we dont electric power for 6 days now. consumer name is ARMINDA CAPARAS 2242 Vitas st Tondo Manila thank you very much for you kind action Fr: JUN CAPARAS

Kabisig is a duly organized coop. Our thrust is transportation, but would like to venture a bayad center. Can you please send us copy how to register to Business solution inc.

Let me share you my experience with the kind of service from Meralco. It was during the aftermath of typhoon Basyang. Two days after the typhoon, the electricity in our village (Gatchalian Subdivision in Las Pinas) got restored except our house and 2 other houses infront of us. It was due to a busted post wire connected to our metering device. I called the Meralco call center and spoke first with AJ on July 15 at 10pm. Aj promised me that they will fix the problem in two to 4 hours. 2 hours after, I made a follow-up and I to talked with Cloe this time (July 16 at 12am) and Cloe said that the the linemen are around the Alabang Area and our neighborhood is next in line. So I went to work in Makati (I work at 1am) and then at around 6 AM, I made a follow up. I talked with Weng, JM and Michiko. They were not able to give me concrete details as to why our electrical connection is not yet fixed. They are all one and the same in telling me that our house is next. Well, what the hell. Our house was next in line since last night! In my conversation with Michicko, I started expressing my dissapointment. She told me that they have already informed the Alabang Operations regarding my concern. Since Michicko will not give me the phone number of their “Alabang Operations,” I asked her if I could to talk to their supervisor (Remel Magbalana) instead. She said yes. She placed me on hold for 15 minutes. She came back to me and said that the supervisor is currently busy engaging with another person on another line. I told her that I can wait. She placed me on hold again for 30 minutes. 3o freaking minutes. Tired of hearing the same recording over and over again, I dropped the call and called 631-1111 again. Now this time, I spoke with Christian Magbalana, who happens to be the brother of the supervisor. Now Christian wasn’t able to help me at all. I asked for the supervisor again, and Christian told me he is on break. What?!! Christian, unlike Michicko and the others, gave me an idea there are more than a hundred on the list around Alabang, Las Pinas and Paranaque area waiting for their electrical wirings restored. If they told me that last night, I shouldn’t have not made my hopes high. They should have said like “I’m sorry but it would take 15 to 24 hours to fix your electrical connection. Our linemen are loaded with more than a hundred houses that needs to be fixed.” I am really dissapointed with the Meralco operations knowing that my fishes are dying one by one. I have three fish ponds in the house. I have one hundred japanese kois. Some of them cost like 4,000 each. It’s disheartening to see them die one by one because of no airation or oxygen. Aside from that, my wife is pregnant. She is sick most of the time due to vomiting. It’s morning sickness as they say but she vomits the whole day. It’s a good indication that the baby inside her is growing but it is not wonderful to see her in pain in a house with no electricity. Meralco sucks! Not to mention that they charged us double with electricity these past 3 months.

    • That’s horrible experienced !!!!!
How I wish they perform their job very well, specially their Customer Service Representative…
They should know how to explain their side..
They hang you over the phone for more 30 minutes, wow unbelievable…
I hope this situation will never happen again to other customer…

I am an Australian age pensioner living in Philippines on a resedential visa. My pension is paid into my Commonwealth Bank Of Australia. I have a net bank facility with them and they will do international electronic transfer in any desired currency. All that is required is recipient’s bank details. I aproached Meralco for the required information to transfer to Meralco. Their Treasury Office came back saying it can not be done as they do not deal in foreign currency. Since when has PHP been a foreign currency in Philippines ? ATM is inconvenient as there is a daily limit of P 10,000 and it is more costly.
How do the great number of Pinoys working overseas pay their Meralco bills ? Or are they not charged for their home electricity. Big joke. Like Meralco would be if not so serious

nagpadala sa akin ang meralco ng letter saying pwede ko ma refund ang bill deposit just submit their requirements in my case i could not produce the official receipt dahil ang developer ng subdivision ang naglakad para magka meralco kami in short i went to meralco marikina last march 21, 2013 and opt for “application of deposit to unpaid bills” meaning they will credit my bill deposit to all my future bills and before leaving their office i was assured by the clerk that it will reflect on all my future billings ,eto na ngayon ang bill after my application no credit appeared even a single centavo and it was over due already ,despite my being busy i took time to call meralco ortigas for fear of disconnection only to find my application was not process yet. they told me to follow it up on marikina branch meaning i would have to make myself absent again from my office just like i did when i applied last march 21 para sa kanilang pagkakamali they never told me how long it will take time before it will be processed all they assured me is it will be reflected already on the next billing.ilang kaya kaming ganito ang pinaasa nyo meralco? hindi nyo ba alam na bawat absent namin ay bawas sa take home pay namin.
