Eskwela – a Philippine Facebook?

I took the opportunity to test out the alpha version of Eskwela.com.

At first I wondered why it was hosted in Godaddy, despite its tag line that it is 100% Pinoy. One commenter responded that “we don’t have much choice when Pinoy web services cater only to big businesses and not to the masses. even in IT pa sosyalan tayo.” Nonetheless, a couple of commenters did provide more interesting taglines: “Proud to be Pinoy” was one of them.

All in all, it does have promise, though it is still a little rough around the edges.

Is Eskwela.com biting Friendster.com’s market?

This is a very serious issue, esp since the developers of Eskwela were the once the developers of Pusit.com that was acquired by Friendster.

i think the tagline 100% pinoy is referring to the MAJORITY of users they are trying to acomodate..

although there is a subliminal message underlying on this matter.. whatever that is, i hope its doing its purpose.. very clever..
