Facebook earlier announced that it will buy WhatsApp messaging App for $16 Billion in cash and stock. Zuckerberg said the acquisition will “accelerate Facebook’s ability to bring connectivity and utility to the world.” Moreover, the Facebook founder announced that WhatsApp will still continue to operate separately from Facebook Messenger. WhatsApp employees will also take home $ 3 Billion in stock over four years as part of the acquisition.
WhatsApp has grown exponentially over the past four years and now has over 450 Million active users per month.
