Was passing by Makati Cinema Square this afternoon and noticed a makeshift stall was doing a gadgets bazaar. Best sellers are 29″ TV sets (unknown brand) for only Php7,000.

What caught my attention was an iPod Nano imitation. I took a closer look and the device was really close to the real thing. They’re in 256MB capacity, plays mp3 and videos and has an FM player — both in black and pearl white models.

Fake iPod Nano The media player is officially called an MP4 but the face plate has a lettering of iPod 650 in it. The video is aweful though — looks like 64 colors only and the boot-up screen says “Bye Bye”. Funny. (Wasn’t able to take actual shots of it using my camera phone since a lot of people are watching and wanted to take a hold of it too.)

How much? For a low, low price of Php3,500 you can own one of these babies. *heh*

Update:
First discovered last December in Engadget (which refers the price in Philippine peso.) TheMP3Players.com reports that the same has been spotted in Japan.

Alam mo ba? Last 2006. bumili ako ng isang fake iPod nano na 2gb. Last Christmas yun.
