Huawei Intros Improved Ascend Mate with 4G and Reverse Charging Feature

Huawei recently announced its newest phablet from the Ascend series, the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G.

The Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G retained the same 6.1 inch, HD IPS Corning Gorilla Glass screen and 4050mAh battery but introduced some improvements over its predecessor, the Huawei Ascend Mate.

Aside from a (slight) boost in processing power brought by its Quad-core 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon  400 processor, it now has a 4G LTE support, something that’s missing from the previous Ascend phablet.  What’s more is that  Huawei fitted an LTE Advanced or 4G LTE with CAT4, meaning the phablet can support up to 150 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload speeds.

The Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G also has an improved 13 MP camera (from previous 8MP) and a 5 MP front camera with Panoramic View feature for taking better selfies. 🙂

The 4G phablet has 2 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It is 9.5mm thin and weighs 202g.

A unique feature of the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G is its Reverse Charging function which allows the phablet to act as a power bank and charge other mobile phones.

The Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G is initially available in Black and White.
