LG confirms Ice Cream Sandwich update for top Optimus phones

LG Global recently confirmed on their Facebook page that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will arrive in the future for their top Optimus phones: the Optimus 3D, Optimus 2X  (which was already announced a week ago) and also the single-core Optimus Black. So if you’re holding off buying that Optimus Black for fear of not getting the ICS treatment, here’s your go signal to go get one.

As typical of LG and its Android updates, they don’t have any timeline as to when this update will take place. Only thing we got from them is the announcement for the update roadmap will be announced this December.

Gingerbread for Optimus Black and Optimus 3D delayed again

Right now, only Optimus 2X has the Gingerbread update. The Optimus 3D and Optimus Black are still stuck with Froyo with the promised Gingerbread update getting pushed back again and again. We are now hearing a 4th week of December release for the Gingerbread update for this two phones from LG Philippines so it’s still a bit of a waiting game for users.

  3. This makes me happy I got the Optimus Net (aka the P500), which the guys at the booth upgraded to Gingerbread just before they turned it over to me.

  4. Nung unang ko tong nabasa merong small possibility na ma-upgrade yung LG optimus one, pero mukhang tinangal na nila eh… more power to this site!

  5. Is ICS out for optimus 2x?
