What’s more, LG will roll-out an update soon that will add an Eco Mode application which users can use to manually disable each individual core of their phone for better control of the phone’s battery.

This quad-core phone will be loaded with LG’s new Optimus UI 3.0 which includes some neat features like QuickMemo, which allows the user to instantly doodle notes on the screen without having to leave the app they are using. LG also added the Time Catch Shot feature on the camera app, which works by letting you select the best shot among the images taken before you press the shutter key.

  1. Too late, LG. Nothing that the One X or S3 hasn’t covered yet.

  2. This phone looks pretty awesome in person. I was at Nama Nama at Eastwood and a lady was playing games on it a couple of tables from ours. At first I thought it was a Galaxy Note, but the corners were sharper and it looked a little sleeker. This post let me recognize what phone it was :)

  3. FINALLY THE BEST OF THE BEST SMART PHONES WILL COME TO THE BEAUTIFUL ISLANDS OF THE PHILIPPINES!

THIS PHONE IS WAY BETTER THAN HTC ONE X, AND SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 IN MANY THINGS.

LG 4X HD: HAS THE BEST DISPLAY (LCD SCREEN).

YOU WILL NEVER REGRET! THIS YEAR LG IS DOING WELL ! THERE IS ANOTHER INCOMING MONSTER “LG F180″

    KUDOS LG!

    • 1. LG 4X HD: HAS THE BEST DISPLAY (LCD SCREEN). — What is your basis? S3 has Super AMOLED, iphone 4s has retina display, one x has super LCD 2.
      2. IN REAL LIFE THIS PHONE IS MORE FASTER AND MORE SMOOTHER IN INTERNET BROWSING COMPARED TO IT’S COMPETITORS. — Where is your proof? like videos comparing them side by side.
      3. THE “OPTIMUS UI 3.0″ IS WAY BETTER THAN HTC’S SENSE, OR SAMSUNG’S TOUCHWITZ. — Please explain to us why?
      4. LG 4X HD HAS THE BEST STYLISH DESIGN IT IS MORE COMPACT VERY COMFORTABLE TO HAND AND VERY EASY TO USE. — like they say, different people have different taste but well maybe that’s just your opinion.
      5. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET! THIS YEAR LG IS DOING WELL ! THERE IS ANOTHER INCOMING MONSTER “LG F180″
      – maybe the monster you are pertaining is good, but the consumers are yet to see that LG is doing good, to see is to believe.

      • LG 4X HD VS. SAMSUNG GALAXY S3

        DESIGN?

“Optimus 4X HD is more compact. Another advantage that LG’s smartphone has is that it comes with a regular SIM card slot, so switching from an older device will be pretty straightforward, instead of having to get a Micro SIM replacement, as the case is with the Galaxy S III.”

        DISPLAY ?

It doesn’t take an expert to conclude that the LG Optimus 4X HD has an awesome 4.7-inch “True HD” display. In fact, we find it slightly better than the 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD screen on the Samsung Galaxy S III. Yeah, it might be a tad smaller, but in real life, a tenth of an inch is a difference we can neglect. The LG “True HD” displays are made using IPS-LCD technology and a standard RGB pixel arrangement, so the color representation is really accurate, and the amount of detail the screen can deliver is impressive. On top of that, the 4X HD’s screen is much more usable under the sun’s scorching rays of light. Don’t get us wrong for the Galaxy S III’s display is pretty good as well, offering comparable amount of detail and colors that can be as natural or as overblown as you want, depending on the smartphone’s display settings. Nevertheless, it is the Optimus 4X HD’s screen we’d ultimately pick as our favorite between the two.

LG 4X HD HAS AN ACCURATE & NORMAL COLORS.

  5. OPTIMUS UI 3.0 VS. TOUCHWIZ?

The LG Optimus 4X HD is powered by Android 4.0.3 ICS with the custom Optimus UI 3.0 on top. We saw this setup in the recently-reviewed Optimus L7, but it feels much better on the snappier hardware on the LG flagship. The Koreans have treated Ice Cream Sandwich with their highly customized style but things look subtler than usual, tidy and uncluttered.
We like the mostly bright color themes and the white system menus look very nice on the HD screen. Many aspects of the phone’s behavior can be customized, you can go to as small detail as the capacitive key backlight and the transition between homescreen panes. While we’re at it, the shortcut bar at the bottom of the homescreen is one of the major changes in the Optimus UI 3.0. It can now fit up to SIX (6) SHORT CUTS AND THAT IS ONE MORE THAN WHAT TouchWiz offers on the Samsung Galaxy S III. You don’t have to use all available slots though – you can only keep the App Drawer shortcut if you want.

again TRUE HD IPS DISPLAY COLOR OF LG IS REALLY NATURAL & AUTHENTIC.

  7. SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 V. LG 4X HD!

    UI comparisons

I found that folder access and creation was much easier on the LG Optimus 4X HD. Folders, when created on the GS3, require the user to drag an icon to the bottom of the screen, rather than over the top of another icon, like on the LG. Both devices feature rather obtrusive ways of opening folders. Dimming the rest of the screen around the folder makes the folders feel out of the way.

The LG also give easy access to screen brightness right from the notification menu. Whereas the Galaxy S3 has no master brightness control, the brightness must be changed on a per-program basis.

For example, when on the homescreen, brightness may be set to full, but upon opening the web browser the user must access the menu to set the specific brightness for the browser. This makes for a rather tedious experience, in my opinion. The Optimus also has a QuickMemo feature, where the user can instantly draw on the screen at any time.

  8. SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 VS. LG 4X HD

    Battery Life

The LG Optimus has a slightly larger batter with 2150 mAh. Each phone has power saving functionality as well as battery management options. Each device is very capable of keeping charge for 24 hours with moderate-to-heavy use.

  9. SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 VS. LG 4X HD

    Display?

Some smartphone users swear by HD-IPS displays, and others loyally support Amoled displays. PURIST TEND TO FAVOR THE TRUE IPS AS IT PROVIDES OPTIMAL VERTICAL VIEWING ANGLES , AND COLORS MORE
    “TRUE” TO THEIR SOURCE.

Amoled displays provide more rich dark tones, as the pixels actually turn off, instead of displaying the color black.

  13. LG came out blazing last year for the launch of their LG Optimus 2x and Optimus Black, there were promos left and right, no 1day or 1hour sale like for the Optimus One so we thought they learned their lesson already.

    Fast forward to 2012.

    The L5 had a 1hour sale – ouch.

The Optimus 4X was launched with a whimper (at least compared to the 2x and black). There hardly isn’t any marketing or promo similar to last year. Is LG hard up, so they couldn’t launch a marketing campaign to rival that of Samsung SIII’s launch – free phones via contest, etc.

But honestly I like the looks of the 4x over the S3 but I’m having second thoughts about the LG and NVidias support after what I’ve read w/ their support for their almost abandoned flagship Optimus 2x phone.

  14. dami nyong satsat. may pambili ba kayo?posers

  15. My beef with LG is not the hardware. They offer top of the line specs just like the One X and S3 (each with their own pros & cons of course). I just have a problem with their support. Specifically their software updates.

I’ve gone through 2 LG droids in the past(both were dubbed flagship devices btw), and have a number of friends who have LG droids as well, so i know where i’m coming from. If not for the android dev community i wouldn’t have lasted more than 8 months on each of them.

So if LG ups their game in the software support aspect I’d gladly give them another shot. But as long as they stay mum about when or even IF their devices would get software updates, I’d stay away from them for the meantime.

  16. I will consider to buy this, when this phone comes out in my country

  17. The Optimus 4X HD is really great. I love the display of the screen a lot. It really helps the resolution for better game experience. I am also trying to win a second Optimus 4X HD from LG’s facebook Quick Memo event so that I can give it to my brother.

  18. Wow, I was curious about the event that you mentioned and just applied. This is actually really exciting. I hope I can win a free charger at least. I really need one bad because I lost mine yesterday.

  19. Hi, to all here. i am a very android fan, and not so apple (peace, there was a never ending battle for supremacy. but i don’t like apple. because #1 the internet is a big business that you can’t use it if it is not paid. #2 why bother to buy all the good apps when in truth, you are paying bigtime for the internet service connection. that’s a highway robbery). anyway, i have a samsung galaxy s1 currently because i gave it to my wife. I have experienced using a sky pantech vega racer, which i was convinced of the speed at 1.5ghz specifically a760s. Then i switched to LG SU880 as this was a tegra 2 phone, but i was immediately dissatisfied with the internal memory problem. It sucks all the way because, you cannot set an external sd card as a default memory for system, making external SD just a backup storage of whatsoever apps/data you wanted to keep. And this one’s cannot be rooted.

I’ve been looking for a phone that will satisfy my taste for balance of performance, feature and style. For this one, i saw this, LG OPTIMUS 4X HD, and it got my attention. If you are really an enthusiasts of a high tech phone and looking for a phone that fits your style of use. you don’t have to compare some phones side by side. just knowing what the phones specs are just enough. the one thing you’ll just have to be sure is, if the specs are really there inside the unit. you might want to know, im not just an average user, i can also root, upgrade/downgrade firmware, read a build.prop, know how to brick/unbrick a phone( with a little help from google of course :D).My point is. LG OPTIMUS 4X HD, sure did gave me a satisfaction with what the phones specification should have. Never i have seen a phone so well balanced. These are what i mean:

    •4.7” True HD IPS Display (720 x 1280) @ 313 ppi
•”1.5GHz” “NVidia Tegra 3″ “Quad Core”
    •1 GB of RAM
•16 GB internal memory, microSD up to 64 GB
•8 Megapixels auto-focus camera with LED flash, 1.3 Megapixel front-facing, (what else could you ask for)

LG OPTIMUS 4X HD, gives a high feature with a high camera MP(with a “FLASH”)and also a big screen size, I don’t know why some phones have this and some phones don’t. phones now a days are just like a pair of gear, they don’t exactly defeat other phones, they just compliment what other phone don’t have in their feature.

Samsung SIII or galaxy note II, could have been better, because they use a “MALI400″ GPU which was faster. But the sad thing about this is that, majority of games run for nvidia, which is not supported by MALI. and nvidia stays on the top when it comes to high definition graphic games.

  20. Again,,,

I still like this unit, but recently i acquired an S3 galaxy with unit model number svh-e210s, which is unbelievably maxed out for the specs, here it is:

QUAD CORE, 2GB RAM, 32GB INTERNAL MEMORY(with external expandable up to 32GB making a total of 64GB total phone storage, with usable of 59GB as some was allocated for system use only), and a larger screen of 4.8.

Just having a little problem with some games as it was not really that very supported yet as of now, but samsung gives the promise of making some hot games like HD games available for S3.

I could play some really nice and neat games, like Mass effect, Real Steel, ShadowGun, etc. the quality of the game became very undescribable as you can experience a very no lag performance of the phone.

LG 4X HD could have been my phone but as i was determined to have the balance performance, feature and style. Samsung Galaxy S3 got my eye. And now i am enjoying this device very much. I still like to have an experience with 4X though cause i think it is a great phone too.

  21. LG optimus Owner says:

Maybe i am biased but all i can say is that all my peers who owns S3 One X says my phone is better.

    Cheers….
