LG Optimus Pro and LG Optimus Net finally arrives

Trying to keep up with the competition on the number of smartphones targeting different market segment, LG introduced two new Android phones to the country: the LG Optimus Pro and the LG Optimus Net.

LG Optimus Pro

We’ve featured the LG Optimus Pro before but to give you a refresher, it’s main distinctive feature is the front portrait keyboard for those who prefer physical keys rather than onscreen ones. It has a 2.8-inch landscape display, powered by a decent 800Mhz processor and will be running on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It’s important to note also that it comes with a 1500mAh battery which is commonly found in bigger smartphones.

LG Optimus Pro C660 Specs:

  • 800MHz processor, Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset
  • 2.8-inch display @ 240 x 320 pixels, 256K colors
  • QWERTY keyboard
  • 256MB RAM
  • 150MB storage,  up to 32GB via microSD, 2GB included
  • 3G/HSDPA 3.6Mbps
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi hotspot
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • 3.15 MP fixed-focus camera
  • GPS w/ aGPS support
  • Li-Ion 1500mAh
  • Android OS, v2.3.3
  • SRP: Php10,490

LG Optimus Net

This smartphone looks just like other entry to mid-range Optimus phones we already have but with subtle design changes. It’s more than that though as it features the LG Social+ widget which makes this a touchscreen phone made for those who wants quick access to their social network. It’s no HTC ChaCha with the dedicated FB button but the LG Social+ widget reminds me of HTCs FriendStream which gives you access to your feeds straight from the homescreen.
The LG Optimus Net comes with a 3.2″ screen with HVGA (320 x 480) display for clearer images although the 256K color is not something to be excited about. It’s also packed with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and runs on a 800MHz processor. Priced at only Php9,990, the Optimus Net will give the Samsung Galaxy Ace a run for its money if you don’t mind the slightly smaller display screen and lower camera resolution.

LG Optimus Net Specs:

  • 800MHz processor, Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset
  • 3.2-inch display @ 320 x 480 pixels, 256K colors
  • 512MB RAM
  • 150MB storage,  up to 32GB via microSD, 2GB included
  • 3G/HSDPA 3.6Mbps
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi hotspot
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • 3.15 MP fixed-focus camera
  • GPS w/ aGPS support
  • Li-Ion 1500mAh
  • Android OS, v2.3.3
  • SRP: Php9,990

  1. nice article. just to point out, Optimus Net doesn’t support QWERTY keyboard as written in the above specs.

    ciao

  2. where to buy those prices? TNX

  3. That optimus net sounds like a catch for its price! Gingerbread pa!

  4. I still prefer OB with bigger display. thats why im planning to buy that phone earlier on january. im tired of using my galaxy mini.

  5. Hmmm choosing between Samsung Galaxy Fit & LG Optimus Net…

    • Go for Optimus Net. Galaxy fit only has QVGA while Optimus Net has HVGA. I’ve seen the Galaxy Fit first hand and the resolution is somewhat pixelated. And I’ve been using the Optimus Net for 2.5 weeks now, no regrets whatsoever.

  6. hi.. just gonna ask.. matagal ba yung battery life ng optimus net mo?? yung sakin kasi.. hindi umaabot ng isang buong araw :( sa tingin ko may problem yung battery ng phone ko..

  7. LG Optimus Pro c660, is a qwerty type keypad…
i would like to ask if there is a touch keypad for texting for this unit?
