Makati City taps PLDT for free WiFi service
Makati City Mayor Junjun Binay recently tapped telecoms firm PLDT to provide free WiFi service in Makati City Hall for its constituents. He announced that this is just the first step in making the city the first WiFi city in the country as he plans to roll out free WiFi service to all 33 baranggay in his city.

Sealing the partnership with the local government unit was PLDT ALPHA Enterprise Head Jovy Hernandez. Hernandez said fast wifi access will be available in high-traffic areas of the building so that constituents will be able to use the internet while they are transacting with city hall.
Now lets just hope that the IT department has blocked access to Facebook apps lest we see city hall personnel pay more attention to their farms and sims rather than actual people needing their assistance. Even if a lot of people thinks this is a power move that might earn the mayor another term, we hope other progressive cities or government establishments will follow suit.

Ganyan sila sa Makati! Sana ganyan din dito sa Pasig hehehe
Pati sa Marikina
kaya pumayag PLDT sa Makati despite having their PLDT WiFi Zones is because hindi nila ma-penetrate ang Ayala Malls which is still a Globe area. Hehehe.
Tama!
I wish they will allow free WiFi access everywhere in Makati, it would save everyone 1k/month for the people there.
Hope this project will be a success as many will surely benefit from this.
