Online gaming just got bigger with the introduction of 2 new titles from Massive Gaming. Massive Gaming is a 100% Proudly Pinoy-owned company and will be bringing new game titles for the Filipino gaming community.
Massive Gaming is starting off their operations with War Inc., a free-to-play, online multiplayer, session-based shooter and Mercenary online, a third-person action shooter from Ying Pei Games .
War Inc. Battlezone features different classes to play with depending on your style. If you’re a gamer who loves to be on the forefront of the battle and love rifles, the Assault class might be suited for you. If you’re more of the support guy the Medic might fill your boots. If stealth is your thing, the Recon specializes in sniper rifles and they can spot enemies on your minimap. If gadgets and explosives are your style, then the Engineer is your pick.
One feature of War Inc. that piqued my interest is how customizable everything is. You can add attachments to your weapons like scopes, flashlights, additional rounds, receivers etc. You can also add custom paint to your weapons. Mind you, there are tons of weapons to choose from and mix it with the customizability feature and you can certainly call it your own creation.
There are different game modes to choose from. There’s Conquest in which both teams try to capture and defend designated capture points; Deathmatch, basically Team 1 vs Team 2; and Sabotage, which is the same with “œde” maps in Counter-Strike, “œTerrorist” vs “œSecurity” team. I do wish that our ISPs can handle the traffic of a 64-player game. Yes, there’s a 32 v 32 game mode.
The other game is called Mercenary Online. This game takes casual online gaming to the next level. MO is a third-person shooter which runs on Unreal Engine and also features NVIDIA’s PhysX engine. It’s still in closed beta at the moment.
The game really looks good, provided that you have a capable graphics card and fast internet. The environment is interactive which you can actually use to your advantage. i.e. sand storms, blizzards.
There are 3 game modes. You have Head-to-Head, which is the typical I shoot you, you shoot me game mode; Zombie survival, featuring waves of zombie hordes for you to empty your bullets on; and Dungeon Type missions in which you push through waves of mobs and kill the boss at the end of the level, which is similar to an MMORPG.
In MO, you can carry 2 primary weapons alongside your side arm and other equips such as grenades and devices. Weapon customization is also available and you can customize your own character with Costumes.
If you were able to play Gunz online before, you’ll be familiar with the ins and outs of MO. You level up your character, unlock new equipment and customize your gears to unlock various perks that will create a unique play style for the player.
