NEO launches their best gaming laptop yet, the Elan LD7KW

NEO just launched a couple of their new laptops, one of which is the Elan LD7KW which is their best gaming laptop assembled so far.

NEO-Elan-LD7KW-01

Cutting to the chase, the 15.6-inch Elan LD7KW is a beast of a notebook sporting an Intel Core i7-3630QM quad-core processor with 8GB DDR3 RAM. It also uses an NVIDIA GTX 670MX GPU with 3GB RAM. This is one of the few high-end mobile GPUs to come out late last year. NEO reps say that the machine can handle playing Crysis 3 and Skyrim at high settings without a hiccup.

This notebook supports Full HD resolution, has a 1TB hard drive and an abundance of display ports such as HDMI, Display Port 1.1a, DVI-I out. It also has 3 USB 3.0 ports, one of which is powered so you can charge devices through it even if the laptop’s turned off. There are 2 more USB 2.0 ports and an eSATA/USB 3.0 combo port.

One of the highlights of this laptop is its multi-color backlit keyboard. If you’re the type of gamer who games on the dark just to show off their backlit keyboard, this one’s for you. You can have a different color for each section of the keyboard or you can have the included software to change it on the fly for you like Christmas lights.

At the back along with the display ports are two exhaust vents to keep the beast warm while gaming and it seemed to do a good job at it silently. It also uses an 8-cell battery which the folks from NEO say can give you 5 hours worth of unplugged gaming. The front lid has a semi-rubbery texture for that rugged feel.

  • Not the prettiest laptop ever, but it gives you so much more than other brands do at that price. No way I’d try using a messenger-style laptop bag with this though. Backpack only. Not that I can afford this, lol.

  • Griswold

It’s not a looker alright. very uninspired. maybe the saving grace for its design would be the colored keyboards.

  • Tomahawk

specs are good for that price but im still concerned of the track record of neo and own experience with that brand

    • Griswold

true… di na ata maalis sa mga tao ang pagkababa ng durability ng laptops nila. kitang kita sa mga neo service centers na maraming nagpapaayos.
