Nokia just announced the availability of the Asha 502, which is based on their first phone to use the Asha platform, the Asha 501, but with some improvements.
The Nokia Asha 502 still has the sae 3-inch QVGA display of the Asha 501 but curves nicely towards the edges. The Asha 502 uses what Nokia calls “œdual shot” technique on its shell. This combines an inner layer of bold, bright colour surrounded by an outer layer of crystal-clear transparency. So it looks like your phone is enclosed in glass which makes it unique and at the same time more durable.
The camera on the Asha 502 has also improved, from 3-megapixel to a 5-megapixel and this time around you also get the benefit of a LED flash. Still no front camera though. It also has built-in camera filters and photo editing feature, and it’s now more social allowing you to post image directly to Facebook and Twitter.
The Asha platform has also been tweaked for better user experience. Fastlane is the unique, second screen that acts as a shortcut to the phone’s recently accessed apps, features and content, as well as future activity, such as calendar appointments or social network updates. Swipe is the main gesture for navigating the phone ““ whether answering a call, viewing notifications or closing an app, and even launching the camera app from the lockscreen.
Other features are quite similar to the Asha 501 such as dual-SIM with Easy Swap, 64MB RAM, 4GB microSD card included for storage, Bluetooth 3.0, FM Radio, and a 1010 mAh battery.
Price for the Nokia Asha 502 is at Php4,800 which is just a few hundred more than the Asha 501. It comes in black, white, yellow, green, cyan, and red.
