Nokia C5, another smartphone announced by Nokia

Nokia just announced the availability of the Nokia C5 smartphone that is optimized for social networking. Following the design popularized by the 6300 and 6700, the Nokia C5 is a candybar handset that includes access to Nokia’s range of mobile services, such as free navigation and Nokia Messaging, in one affordable package.

This entry-level smartphone uses Symbian S60 which is powered by an ARM 11 600MHz processor. What’s being highlighted on the C5 is the direct access to favorite contacts on the device homescreen and Facebook status updates visible from the phonebook. Just like your ordinary smartphone.

Instant messaging and email accounts are being handled by Nokia Messaging. Latest version of Ovi Maps is available as well with free walk and drive navigation plus location sharing. It doesn’t have any WiFi though so you have to rely on 3G for your internet connection.
