Online gambling arrives in Philippines

Online gambling arrives in the Philippines with Xchangebet.

The site does hold some promise. You can bet on sporting events such as PBA basketball and even the FIFA World Cup, with amounts as low as P100 to as high as P100,000. Inq7 has written an article on this but, as the site is quite new, there are still very few gamblers who have placed their bets online. Emil de la Cruz, officer-in-charge of Inter-active Entertainmetn Solutions Technologies (IEST) which runs the site, commented that “the homegrown service is set to push through with its marketing blitz next month in time for the German World Cup.”

One advice though.  In a process wherein anonymity and security are important, they should make sure that their SSL certificates are updated:

  1. Gambling is a sin. Ugh!

Gambling = lust for money = lust = sin

Darn it, it’s in the bible.

  2. 1 Timothy 6:10

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows

Calling those who intend to use this service.

  3. Although I don’t encourage gambling…

Every person in the world != Christian

How about minors? How can they detect that the user betting is above 21?

  4. That’s overreacting. They should help curb gambling addiction, though.

But as for who’s first: I thought Philweb.com has been into this for years already? In fact the latest news on this is that ePLDT bought into them to gain access to the technology and/or the PAGCOR franchise.

  5. back in 2004 mayor belmonte ordered a foreclosure of SAGE (something that reminds me of e-gambling) in QC.. actually its been on court wayback in 2002.. pretty much internet gambling is not new anymore here in phil..

  6. can i bet on a cockfight here?

  7. Somebody is working on online cockfight betting.

  8. i have been in that bondage for the past 7 months and i thought that it was one of the solutions in gaining money. masarap lang sa umpisa but in the end, it’s not worth it. GOD tells us to be content with what we have. (Hebrews 13:5) Thank GOD at di pa naman huli ang lahat!

  9. Guys, preach at will. non of that can help though. Everyone heres got their own “free will” to lead them. Be trying this out

  10. xchangebet has renewed its security certificate and is now secured with digicert certificate (I am not sure that how secure is digicert’s certificate though!!!)

  11. If you’ve searched in a web there are lot of gambling sites and now that online gambling arrives in the Philippines, surely there are people won’t resist to put their bet on line.
