From the Opera site:

Why we’re going free

Opera has removed the banners, found within our browser, and the licensing fee. Opera’s growth, due to tremendous worldwide customer support, has made today’s milestone an achievable goal.

See for youreslves: http://www.opera.com/free/

This is definitely more welcome news than when they offered FREE registration codes on the ocassion of their 10th anniversary late last month. They’re also offering the browser now as version 8.5.

There’s still Premium Support via e-mail for those who want to avail of this value-added service. However, you still have to buy Opera for Mobile (devices).
