Sign up for Paypal in the Philippines!
I got a tip on my PayPal Philippines blog entry last night. As it turns out, PayPal for the Philippines blog got the same tip. Today, someone in TipidPC noticed that the Philippines was on the signup selection page. So, I had to try it out.
True enough, it’s open. I signed up for a “Premier Account.” This has a sending limit of US$100 and a zero withdrawal limit. You can’t add funds - when you pay, it will be charged to your card immediately. I don’t know how zero withdrawal works if someone has paid you - is it credited towards your future purchases?
I then applied for the Expanded Use program. For a $1.95 fee, to be credited back later, they will charge an item with a verification code you will see in your next credit card statement. Since I don’t have an online credit card balance facility, I’ll need to wait for my next paper statement to see this. With this active, you are supposed have unlimited paying capabilities.
I don’t know yet what occurred to make this happen. Despite the various problems with PayPal, this is still a win for Pinoy e-commerce.

It’s actually not $500 maximum per month it’s $500 per day and depending on what bank you are with, if debit card it would be the maximum per day and $5.00 fee, if you transfer to regular account it would be around Php20k maximum.I use Paypal to transfer twice every month and sometimes more in a month.
Paypal Philippines users can now send unlimited amounts of money to any account, fund their accounts unlimited as well but can only withdraw up to a maximum of $500 per month.
Withdrawals can be made thru a debit card, a credit cards and a local Philippine bank.
