Philippine Internet: 12 years later
The Philippine Internet is turning 12 years old this March 29, 2006. I started using it shortly after it went up, but I was not involved in the very beginning. I was ending my junior year in college in March 1994.
For an overview of early Philippine Internet history, see this detailed article, RP marks 7th year on the Internet from Computerworld, 2001. It’s by Melba-Jean Valdez and veteran IT writer, now blogger Chin Wong.
Another summary is from The Web Magazine (now Enterprise). I wrote it, but I can’t find the original copy. Heinz Bulos adapted it into a PDF file, which is available from the Internet Archive Wayback Machine.
