Registration for Y4IT now open

Looks like the people behind Y4IT have opened up the registration for this year’s event. Last year, there were over 7,000 participants. Can you imagine? That’s quite a lot. The three-day event will be held in UP Diliman. There will be simultaneous sessions in the following venues: UP Theater, UP Film Institute and UP Bahay ng Alumni from September 13 to 15.

Looks like there will some interesting talks like bioinformatics (The site mentions that the speaker will be from UP Manila. Could it be anyone from the CHITS team?;)), software engineering and best practices, digital photography (speaker is going to be from PH-Photo) and mobile games to name a few. There will also be job fairs and discussions of some academic papers. It would truly be something to experience. I could just imagine how much fun and learning everyone would have there.

Interested? It’s time to sign up for Y4IT then. The deadline for registration is on August 15.

  1. Anybody willing to sponsor as well? Hehehe. ;)

I’ve seen the tentative list of the speakers and it’s lookin’ good (never mind that it’s a logistical nightmare from the volunteers’ POV!).

Aside from holding sessions at different venues, Y4IT is also holding side events which my former CS orgs are in charge of. Whee.

  2. ia: I suppose interested people will sponsor it :) The details are, after all, on the Y4IT site.

  3. UP Association of Computer Science Majors holds a side event for the Y4IT this year. The @rte Movement: A Digital Arts and Digital Photography Fair. As of now, the digiart and digiphoto competition for college students is ongoing.

Thank you and we hope to see you there!
