A new leak comes out for the Samsung Galaxy S8, showing off the flagship’s metallic look, crucial details, key specs, and release date.
According to the source, tipster Evan Blass, the Samsung Galaxy S8 sports a large display with little bezel, a fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C Port, an audio jack, and a speaker grille. The biggest thing missing from the device is a visible home button, lending to what looks like a reduced bezel.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Specs and Release Date Leaked
As for Samsung Galaxy S8 specs, Galaxy S8 will have 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch display variants. These will run on the latest Snapdragon 835 processor (or a 10nm in-house processor). The processor, in turn, is complemented with 4GB RAM, and 64GB inbuilt storage. This can expand up to 256GB via microSD cards.
Samsung Galaxy S8 could also be 11 times faster, 23 percent graphics faster, and be 20 percent more battery efficient, according to rumors. For more concrete details, the battery capacity will be 3000mAh and 3500mAh for the two variants. These will work with other optimizations that focus on improving usage time. The cameras will be 12-megapixel for the rear camera, and 8-megapixels for the selfie camera. The main camera may also contain a visual search feature, showing different search options based on the taken photograph.
Furthermore, the Galaxy S8 will come with DeX, a feature that turns the phone into a mini Android computer. Another detail the tipster noted was the iris scanner feature adopted from the Galaxy Note 7. Finally, Bixby, the Samsung virtual assistant, has the ability to understand ‘multi-part instructions’.
According to the leak, the Galaxy S8 will launch on March 29 at an unpacked event in New York. Both models then go on sale from April 21, and will cost around EUR 799 (roughly PHP 42,596) for the 5.8-inch variant, and the 6.2-inch model will retail at EUR 899 (roughly PHP 47,927).
