Samsung Galaxy Tab will go for Php35k starting next week

The Samsung Galaxy Tab will arrive in the local market next week with a starting price of Php34,990 for the 16GB version.

Samsung Galaxy Tab

For those who are still not yet familiar with the Galaxy Tab, it’s a mid-sized tablet with a 7” display running on Android that’s supposed to rival Apple’s iPad. This one has more use than iPad because aside from browsing, you can also place calls and and send SMS messages. At the same time, you can also use it to read e-books, play Android games, watch videos, take photos, etc.

No word yet if Smart, Globe or Sun will be infusing the Galaxy Tab on their postpaid plans but the Php35k price tag is the unlocked version so feel free to use any sim card.

Here are some photos of the Galaxy Tab that I was able to use briefly a couple of weeks ago:

pwede ba to mag video call like skype and yahoo messenger?

    • yahoo is still working with android for their video chat. not sure with skype but fring can do it. tapos pagdating ng android 3.0 pwede na yung video chat talaga by default.

oh so the 35k is for the 16GB version.. Thanks for clearing it up. Di kasi malaman kung 16GB ba or 32GB. It leaves the impression na it might be 35k for 32GB.

  4. Wow, this is exciting… I thought it would cost more given that it launch in Europe for around 800 Euros…

Its only slightly more expensive than a galaxy s… guess I would have to sell my nexus one…

Would the OS be update-able to Gingerbread? its coming in the next few weeks… if not then maybe i’ll wait…

    • I would probably think so. Samsung likes to keep their flagship devices up to date. Don’t know when they’ll be able to release an upgrade but i doubt if they can do it at the same time Gingerbread’s release.

  5. Dumating na ba dito sa Pinas? Saan pwedeng bumili? Kasi may nakita akong pinoy online store and it cost about P42K. Medyo napakamahal! Sana may irecommend kang pwedeng mabilhan kasi I am really interested to get one. Ayoko na kasi ng iPad nakakasawa na kasi ang interface and isa pa maka-samsung ako hehehe. :)

  6. sir nagwowork din ba etong galaxy tab as phone?pwde magcall?pwede magtxt?

  7. mas maganda ba resolution nung galaxy s compared to the tab?and ano ung mas user friendly??

    thanks. .:)

    • yep mas maganda ang Super AMOLED ng Galaxy S no doubt. pareho silang froyo so pareho yung pagka-user friendly although syempre mas madaling mag text sa Galaxy S kasi mas maliit so kaya isang kamay.

  8. saan naman kayo ako makakbili nung galaxy s?or the tab?christmas gift ko for myself

alin ang mas mabilis between the galaxy s and the tab?

i’m an OFW…i was about to buy one here in Riyadh but i tried it first and I was using Skype but i was disappointed because the audio (internal speaker)is not good, it’s cracking…though, with some adjustment etc, i think it’s worth to have one na rin…so, i’m still thinking of buying one very soon because it’s cheaper here at P26,000 pesos only compared in Pinas which is about P35,000

    • yup… use a headset if you wanna skype. you can also wait for the 10-inch model. or the WiFi version if you don’t need 3G.
