Samsung unveiled the Series 8 LCD TV

Just 2 months after they announced the Series 7 LCD here in the Philippines, Samsung unveiled their latest in the Beyond TV line of LCD TV, the Series 8.

The Series 8 LCD TV boasts of a slim and stylish 1.8" thickness. It also has two neat features which I think will appeal to tech junkies like me, the WISELINK Pro and the DLNA.

The WISELINK Pro allows you to plug in your thumb drive using a USB 2.0 connection and it will automatically read its contents whether its pictures, music or video without the aid of external players. This is helpful if you often watch those downloaded TV shows from your thumb drive.

The DLNA allows your LCD TV to view content from other DLNA-certified platforms via wireless connection. So if you have a wireless router, your TV can connect to the network and view and play contents from your PC. Imagine while you’re downloading, you can already watch finished ones on your TV straight from your PC!

The Series 8 comes in 42" and 52" Full HD 1080p models with a Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 70000:1. You might want to consider this one if you’re planning to upgrade your TV set for Christmas.

I just found about it on samsung’s philippine website.

  4. Samsung has released a new version of lcd tv in the Philippines and they are calling them LED TV’s (because they use LEDs as back lightning).

I actually saw it being advertised in discovery channel.
