Smart offers ALWAYS ON plans for light mobile internet users

I’ve always thought that telcos should introduce plans that would cater to those who wants to stay online all the time just for Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare or other social network activities. These doesn’t consume much bandwidth so those unlimited uncapped internet is a bit of an overkill.

Well Smart now has a solution just for that with their ALWAYS ON packages which is in per/kb bundling rather than time-based so it’s much cheaper. The normal 1 day unlimited surfing costs P50 but with ALWAYS ON, it’s either P20 or P30 for 25MB or 50MB per day.

Syntax:

Text ON <Price> to 2200 (e.g. Text ON 300 to 2200)

smart always on plans

*Available to SMART Postpaid, Prepaid and Broadband
**Not available with Mobile Prepaid

The cheapest monthly plan is P300 for 250MB. Smart says with 250 MB, you can do:

1,500,000 tweets or
15,000 facebook posts or
15,000 emails

Not bad for people who don’t need to surf a lot but wants to be active always on their social network accounts. HTC ChaCha prepaid users might want to take advantage of these plans.
