Smart unveils prepaid LTE plans, the first in the country

Smart Communications Inc., just unveiled the first prepaid LTE service in the Philippines for those who have always wanted to try the service but do not want to be tied into the 24-month holding period in postpaid accounts.

Smart’s LTE was launched in August 2012 as the first and widely-available LTE service in the country with over 800 LTE sites in 49 cities and 69 municipalities. Smart envisions “LTE for All” that will give Filipinos only the fastest broadband connection and the prepaid LTE will be the ticket to this vision.

Now anyone with an LTE-enabled device can enjoy ultrafast Internet connection speed for up to 42 Mbps with the SIM-only kit for only P350. Smart prepaid LTE is also bundled with the USB Plug-it for P5,995 or the LTE Pocket WiFi device for P6, 995.

The Prepaid LTE SIMs will also come in different sizes to cater to different LTE-capable devices. There’s the nano SIM and the dual-cut SIM for LTE devices that require micro or regular SIMs. All offers are pre-loaded with an LTE 299 package which is good for 7 days of unlimited LTE use.

When the pre-loaded packages are consumed, users may still avail of unlimited LTE packages until June 30, 2013. Just text keyword <LTE Package> to 2200 (see table).

LTE Package Price Validity Keyword
LTE 50 50 1 day LTE 50
LTE 299 299 7 days LTE 299
LTE 995 995 30 days LTE 995

The Prepaid LTE will be available starting this Sunday, April 21, 2013. For more information about Smart LTE, visit www.smart.com.ph/lte or visit a Smart Store nearest you.

Need ba talaga bumili ng SIM card na yan just to avail of the LTE service? Kung naka-iPhone 5 naman ako, maeenable ko yung LTE option, kasi ang SIM card ang concern ko…

    • if you can’t find LTE on your iphone 5 with your SIM, pwede mong itawag so they can provision it for LTE.

      • StratoSpHere says:

Thanks! I think it’s already setup for LTE, since meron na syang “Enable LTE” toggle sa Options. I’ll test it out tomorrow morning, and I’ll let you guys know kung ano ang verdict aheheh.

bumili ako ng smart simcard 4 months ago.
then un na ang ginamit ko for personal and business transaction na meron ako.yesterday nagload ako but i cant send a text messages. akala ko kinain lang kasi nung mag balance inquiry na ako 0.00 balance ako so i decided na magload ulit pero same problem pa din, narrecive ko mga text messages but everytime na magttext na ako unable/cannot be sent, tumawag ako sa customer service ng smart she told me to refresh my sim card (shutdown my phone) and wait for about 25mins before mgtext ulit, i did what she told me but nothing happened, same pa din. binili ko ang simcard sa isang load station din so may possibilities ba na fake ang simcard kong nabili kasi nagamit ko din naman siya for almost 4months.pinagtataka ko lang narecieve niya naman load and sabi naman ng customer service i still have balance of 32pesos, 40mins of call and alltext for 1 day.
