Sony VAIO Tap 20 launched, 20-inch Windows 8 tablet for the whole family

Earlier today Sony showcased a couple of their upcoming Windows 8 devices. The Sony VAIO Tap 20 is probably the largest tablet that will be available to consumers soon with its 20-inch touchscreen display.

The Sony VAIO Tap 20 is a versatile computing product running on the upcoming Windows 8 aimed for families. It’s really a 20-inch touchscreen Intel-based All-In-One PC that comes with wireless mouse and keyboard for productivity at the home office.

At the same time, you can fold it flat on its back and have your kids carry it (5 kg) in the living room to play with it. It’s also the only All-In-One PC that has built-in batteries (only about 2 hours though) so you can totally go wireless with it.

The 20-inch display has a 1600 x 900 resolution and utilizes Sony’s Mobile Bravia Engine 2 for more vibrant and sharper images when watching videos. It also uses Sony’s S-Force audio technology for clear and loud sound coming from its built in 2.1-channel speakers.

This VAIO Tap 20 is powered by the 3rd gen Intel Core i5-3317U processor along with 4GB RAM and the integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000, and packs a 500GB HDD.

It comes with Sony’s own family apps such as the Fingertapps Organiser that lets the whole family use it as their digital corkboard. Family Paint app on the other hand can utilize the 10-point multitouch screen for fun finger painting moments.

Like all upcoming devices running on Windows 8, the Sony VAIO Tap 20 will be available this October 26 onwards for a cool retail price of Php59,999. It may not be the PC to fuel your gaming needs but it is a device that will surely bring delight to the whole family.

      just a comment, i think it’s underpowered for a family PC.
