		<description>While it is fair that the officers be liable for the &quot;damages&quot; caused by the software, most likely, they had no idea of the extent of the program. most likely, they got presented an option by their IT department that they had a way to prevent piracy. IT of course, paints a pretty picture, without discussing the details.

the boss, liking what he hears, gives the green light. because of the green light, they stop further testing, and they include it in every cd they produce, and then wham! 

while im not defending what they did, i do just want to point out that sony, in it&#039;s entirety, isn&#039;t directly responsible for what happened. unfortunately, as the program was the fruit of the labors of one of their subsidiaries (or departments), the entity (sony) carries the blame.</description>
