StarMobile Jupiter B305, dual-SIM phone with built-in Bluetooth headset

Ever heard of the phone brand StarMobile? No? We’re not surprised. StarMobile is a fairly new mobile player in the “pangmasa” market. It’s a locally-owned company that designs their own mobile phones and have them manufactured by a respectable ODM in China. It’s main competition would be Torque, MyPhone and Cherry Mobile and their ultra-affordable feature phones.

One of its original designs is the Jupiter B305, the first phone in the world that has a built-in removable Bluetooth headset. This phone looks ordinary up front but flip it over and you can pop out the Bluetooth headset which shares power from the phone when not in used.

The phone looks really decent with its glossy plastic finish and they even included an extra case in the box if you get bored with one color. It also comes with not just an ordinary pair of earphones but a hands-free earphones at that.

The keypad  feels properly made, not stiff and just the right amount of pressure for each press. It’s also a dual-SIM phone that offers tri-band capability (cheap phone when going abroad?), has a 3.2-megapixel camera, up to 8GB microSD slot, and can run java apps. Opera mini browser and Facebook java is already installed by the way.

And how much for all of these? Just Php2,990! A Bluetooth headset already costs almost half the price so if you’re looking for an affordable phone and you’re a BT headset user, look no further than StarMobile’s Jupiter B305.

Check out StarMobile’s site for more information about the company or where you can buy their handsets. You can also follow them on Twitter at @happymanPHand Happy Man on Starmobile on Facebook.

  1. I wonder if Bluetooth is automatically turned on when the headset is removed from the back? That would be handy.

    • Griswold says:

automatic pairing? yeah pwede… pero pano pag gusto mo gamitin sa ibang phone yung headset nito?

  2. It’s nice that they design their own phones and I hope they get recognized for it. World’s first phone with built in removable bluetooth headset? Not bad. MyPhone and Cherry Mobile just rely on importing existing models from ODMs.
