[...] It’s interesting to note that the local dotPH domains haven’t been taken yet. Today, I checked isulongseoph.ph, isulonseoph.net.ph, isulonseoph.org.ph,isulong-seoph.ph, isulong-seoph.com.ph, and other dotPH domains were not yet registered. It seems that the local contestants aren’t going to use the local domains. It is probably because the dotPH domain rates are still priced at US$35. dotPH has held on the this pricing scheme for quite a while despite the international domain name prices have gone down to as low as US$7-8. The contest annoucement has gone around. Aside from the official seophilippines website, you’ll see that contest annouced in jozzua.com, kabarkada, macalua.com, yugatech, pinoytechblog, mitolynx, staticbluecreations, blogalicious, and at carmelojosediaz. You can even see it annouced in some family and resort blogs. [...]

This raises a very crucial ethical issue. Is it right to push websites higher on the search list? And even turning it into a contest?
