The Time 100: Jeff Han
My favorite among the list on The Time 100 (The World’s Most Influential People) is none other than research scientist Jeff Han. Jay Adelson of IPTV network Revision3 (producer of Diggnation) and Mike Arrington of TechCrunch came in at close second.
Jefferson Han works as a scientist New York University’s Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. He is one of the main developers of an “interface-free” touch-driven computer screen (remember Tom Cruise on Minority Report). The screen is basically multi-touch and could revolutionize the way we interact with machines.
Jeff first demoed his invention at the TED back in 2006:
He has since created a device for CNN. If you’ve watched one of those CNN Election coverage, you’d notice that multi-touch widescreen they call “The Magic Wall”. Han founded a company called Perceptive Pixel to produce similar devices.
On a side note, Microsoft also has something similar called Microsoft Surface.
