Western Digital rolls out new portable hard drive for graphics pros
Storage solutions firm Western Digital (WD) recently rolled out in the Philippines its new My Passport Pro — the first portable, Thunderbolt-powered dual-drive solution — designed for graphics professionals, particularly Mac users who apply a “work from anywhere” lifestyle.
Touted also as the only Thunderbolt dual-drive solution that’s bus-powered, My Passport Pro has user-selected RAID storage capacities available in 2 TB and 4 TB, and are priced at P15,990 and P21,990, respectively.
The device, consisting of two 2.5-inch hard drives housed in a sleek aluminum enclosure, promises speeds up to 233 MB/s, providing fast transfers and data protection fit for people who depend on portable storage such as videographers and musicians to graphic designers and architects.
For Mac systems, My Passport Pro has user-selectable RAID function, which lets users choose data striping (RAID 0) for high performance or mirroring (RAID 1) for data redundancy, depending on the user’s needs, and without the need for power adapters or extra cables.
My Passport Pro will be available at select retailers and will be distributed by EA Global Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. and Iontech, Inc.
