Yahoo over SMS and Chikka will still cost the SMS user P2.50 to reply. That's still a bit expensive. Ever tried the TxTPortal function of YehBA* instead? Or maybe just simply Yahoo/MSN to YehBA* Mobile Messenger.

Nice idea, but why does it take a foreign company to tie up with the OWWA and the other groups? Obviously they want to push their products. Maybe it's part of their plan to become profitable - taking advantage of markets where they lead.

The site has a small bug, did you see it?

About IM, there's Yahoo! Go Mobile which includes a mobile Y!M, and stores Y! mail in your inbox. I'm using the Nokia S60 version.

:D This is great!

Have the same goal at eOFW (http://eofw.edongskey.com) - Financial and Communications services for the OFW

Good to see similar efforts in other fronts.

Notice none of the telcos are directly involved -- for reasons that are obvious.

It's great that they are launching this initiative.

I use all these options that are mentioned here. Yahoo is definitely the more popular platform for Filipinos, especially when it comes to Yahoo Groups and email.

I think using IM in combination with SMS is something that should be emphasized, because I don't feel this is widely being utilized.

I myself use Chikka as well as Yahoo IM. I've always preferred Chikka for SMS, however.
