ZTE, a new mobile phone player hits the Philippine market

ZTE, the number one mobile phone manufacturer in China, and the 4th largest in the world, is set to invade the Philippine market to compete with other affordable handset brands. Before you think that ZTE phones are similar to those cheap China phones with dubious quality hitting the gray market, they take quality seriously and have a strong following in the European and North American market.

ZTE Star7 ZTE Grand

These phones may not amaze you but it’s just the beginning for ZTE here in the Philippines. We got a sneak preview of a water-proof Android phone called the ZTE Star7 (above left), a 4.3-inch dual-SIM, dual-core phone called the ZTE Grand (above right), and also their quad-core-phone, the ZTE Era, all of which will be launched really soon.

So what do you think? Will ZTE make it big in the country?

Yung pricing nila sa tablet parang medyo mataas for its specs?

17k yung 3g variant. Kung nagrelease yung ZTE ng wifi only variant, for sure mas mura pa. Ang ayoko lng sa Tab ng ZTE, Gingerbread pa din sya.

Just the same, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 3G beats the hardware specs of the ZTE Tab in all aspects. With a couple thousand bucks more, you’ll get 2-cores, double internal storage, double ram, better battery, ICS, and better support. So, medyo over-priced nga ang ZTE.

        • True. For example, the Mimosa Mini only features a 650mhz CPU while others in its price range feature at least 800mhz. Then if you’re looking for a budget tablet, you could go for a dual core Ainol Aurora 2. For a little more than half the price of the Light Tab you get a 1.5ghz dual core CPU, 1gb RAM and an IPS screen. Sure, it’s wifi only but realistically, a 3g radio should only add 3-5k to the price the way it did with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 7.0

in my honest opinion…specs is not impressive for its price…expesive!…considering new player in the Philippines..dapat paimpress..

I totally agree. Lalamunin sila ng mga big players if you consider price vs. specs and reputation.

  6. IMO, there are far too many mobile phone players in the Philippines…
but the popular ones aren’t innovating enough so i guess new players are always welcome…

Samsung Galaxy Pocket is better than Mimosa Mini V856 w/ 3GB internal memory,800mHz and lower price of P 4,999.
Does Kis V788 has only 256 MB RAM?

    Btw,Blade 2 will be good for buget-concious Filipinos w/ price of 7,999.
