Epson Philippines empowerers small business in the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) region by collaborating with the Department of Trade and Industry-Rizal (DTI) for its SME Roving Academy. For those who didn’t know, DTI’s SME Roving Academy (SMERA) is a learning program designed for the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and its goal is to help them become competitive in domestic and international markets. Spotted: Myphone Infinity Lite 2

May 07, 15 Spotted: Myphone Infinity Lite 2

Posted by in Mobile

We were able to spot MyPhone’s newest handset, the Infinity Lite 2, on one of their kiosks in a prominent shopping mall, and spent a few minutes fiddling with it. It’s worth noting that there are two versions of the device, and we were only able to catch with one since both are identical in form factor and almost all hardware inside. Here’s what we can say about our first look of the device. We tried the white variant sporting 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, but were not able to remove its plastic casing due to kiosk restrictions. First off, the Infinity Lite 2 feels really lightweight. It’s not one of the thinnest devices we’ve seen, but its slim profile can be compared to a few previous releases such as the A888 a few years ago. Sporting a glossy polycarbonate shell with aluminium sides, the device is easy to hold, but its near-flat form factor may be hard to retain holding for some. Despite the impression that it’s made with a unibody shell, there are small gaps at the top and bottom of the device, which is an indication that it can be removed. Identifying where’s which, all the volume and power rockers are laid on the aluminum-laden right side. The 3.5mm audio port lays on top, while the microUSB sits at the bottom. At the back is the 13MP rear camera which protrudes a bit, given the slim form factor of the device. Beside it is the LED Flash, and below are the loudspeakers. At 294ppi, the screen looks crisp despite the HD resolution. Capacitive buttons are now ditched in favor of on-screen ones, and it looks aesthetically pleasing. It’s worth noting that MyPhone’s new skin over Android 4.4 KitKat has no app drawer; thus, all apps are placed on the home screen, and it is reminiscent of other Android OS skins like Lewa or MIUI.   MyPhone Infinity Lite 2 specs 5-inch HD IPS display, 1280×720, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 1.4 GHz Octa-Core Mediatek chip (MT6592?)...

Midea Air Conditioning Units can be bought for as low as Php7k

May 07, 15 Midea Air Conditioning Units can be bought for as low as Php7k

Posted by in Tech News

We were at Midea’s event yesterday where they introduced to the press some of the air conditioning units that they have outed in the market and some that will soon be offered in the country, including one window type model that costs around seven grand and one specifically designed for kids. For those who aren’t familiar with the brand, Midea is a popular home appliance brand in China, where they mainly cater to consumers with home appliances such as stoves, rice cookers, refrigerators, and air conditioners; and they are also known for being OEMs (original equipment manufacturer) and ODMs (Original Design manufacturer) for other companies in some parts of the globe. Initially released in one appliance store brand last year, the said Php7k-worth AC has a horsepower of 0.6HP and has a cooling capacity of 5,803 kj/Hr. It has a power input of 574 W, and bears a 0.1 kj/W-Hr EER rating. It’s also lightweight, and is said to emit a near-silent operation sound. Along with the 0.6HP window AC, there are also split-type inverter ones. The Mirror Black, for example, presents itself with an exquisite design not seen on normally-plain and white air conditioners; and it features Turbo DC Inverter, Cool Air Detection, Eco Mode, Self-cleaning, Refrigerant Leakage Detection, and a golden fin that prevents corrosion. A 2.0HP variant is being sold for Php 40,998 at one appliance retail store. All ACs are said to be proven in strength and durability, as they are made specifically for the Philippine climate, through various rigorous environments, noise, and dropping tests before they are shipped out. Media PH also guarantees that after-sales of its products, touting easy and fast installation,  repair with trained technicians and stocked spare parts. “Our products’ warranties are the same with our Japanese and Korean counterparts. We don’t want to offer our products at any place where we don’t have a service center nearby. If we sell our products at such, we would make our customers angry (non-vertabim),” said Raul Joseph Concepcion, CEO of Concepcion Midea Inc., during the press event. Midea also plans to introduce new...
