After Team Secret bagged the top place in the recently-concluded Shanghai Majors, the focus now shifts to the Philippines for the upcoming Manila Major presented by PGL eSports.
The Manila Major is one of the first major Dota 2 tournaments that will be held in the Philippines. Coincidentally, it will also be the last Valve-sponsored tournament before the prestigious The International 2016 which will take place in August.
The SMX Mall of Asia Arena was the chosen battleground for this week-long battle for Dota 2 supremacy which will take place on June 7 until June 12. A total of 16 teams from all over the world will slug it out for the chance of taking home the lion’s share of the tournament’s $3,000,000 prize pool and forever etch their names in history as the champions of the Manila Majors.
Teams who will join the Manila Majors will have to finalize their rosters by March 27. The tourney’s open qualifiers will be held on April 29 to May 2, and the actual Manila Major Qualifiers will run on May 3 to May 6.
In line with the recent announcement, Valve has also shed some light on the availability and pricing scheme of the tickets for the Manila Majors.
The tickets for the Manila Majors can be purchased through SM Tickets starting on March 12, 1PM. To avoid hoarding, and possibly even scalping, SM Tickets will only sell a maximum of 10 tickets per person.
From June 7 to June 10, Dota 2 enthusiasts can watch the live action of the Manila Majors live at the SMX Mall of Asia arena for as low as Php50. However, for those who want to be closer to the action, they can book for seats at middle ring and inner ring for Php100 and Php200 respectively.
Towards the last leg of the Manila Majors, which will take place on June 11 and 12, the price of the outer ring is pegged at Php100. Meanwhile, seats at the middle ring and inner ring will be sold for Php200 and Php400 respectively.
