Enter Zenfone AR: A New Reality Hackathon, One of the Biggest Local Codefests

Zenfone AR: A New Reality Hackathon stands as the country’s first of its kind development, coding and programming competition. All participating teams get 48 hours to develop a new AR/VR Android app built for everyday utility.

This competition welcomes all Filipino developers, programmers and designers, whether professional or amateur. Even company employees that develop apps may join as long as they get clearance from their employer. A team can also be made up of four students, if their mentor is a professor or an industry practitioner. Overall, all teams must consist of four members, and one Team Leader.

ASUS Philippines will shoulder the transportation cost for all teams outside the Metro Manila area. In addition, participating teams should submit a case study/proposal (in PDF) discussing their ideas for a new AR/VR app they would want to develop. The app should be usable and practical, making AR and/or VR an everyday lifestyle tool. Full details on this in the ASUS Facebook page.

Finally, the app should be compatible with the new ASUS Zenfone AR using Tango, or Google Daydream technology. Furthermore, the proposal should be sent to ARHackathon@gmail.com with the following soft copies in zipped file:

  • Profile of Team Members and Mentor (maximum 5 pages)
  • Birth Certificate of Team Members
  • Certificate of Employment, for employed team members
  • Copy of School ID if there are student team members

Interested? The deadline of Submission is on June 3, 2017 at 11:59 PM. For everything you need to know about the competition details, please visit the official ASUS Facebook page.
