HTC quietly launches its dual-SIM Desire 600 and LTE-enabled Butterfly S

HTC Philippines officially announced two phones last December 6, the HTC Butterfly S and the Dual-SIM Desire 600.

The Butterfly S is an LTE phone that features a Super LCD 3 display underneath a 5″ Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel, UltraPixel camera, BoomSound and a battery that promises 659 hours of standby time. The 4 UltraPixel camera has backside illumination and can capture up to 300% more light than most cameras in its class, which is helped partly by 28mm wide angle lens and F/2.0 aperture.

It’s Zoe function shoots 3-second snippets in high resolution, and allows advanced editing features. It’s Video Highlights features creates 30-second movies with music themes which plays great with their BoomSound dual-front speakers which are powered by Beats Audio.

The Butterfly S is pretty much similar with the One feature-wise but with a few marked improvements. It has a better capacity 3200 mAh battery. HTC claims that the battery can last for more than 24 hours talk-time in 3G. It also gets a faster 1.9 GHz processor from the HTC One’s 1.7 GHz and can be expanded via microSD cards. There are a couple more, but we’ll discuss the differences in a future review.

The Desire 600 is a 4.5-inch dual-SIM phone powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor. It comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage plus microSD support. It has an 8-megapixel f/2.0 camera with BSI sensor at the back and a 1.6-megapixel camera at the front.

Both smartphones come with BlinkFeed, which is a tile-based information aggregator; Sense UI and Video Highlights.

The HTC Desire 600 will retail for Php 18,990.00 and the Butterfly S for Php37,590 and both will be available at any authorized HTC dealer soon.
