HTC Sense.com going offline for an upgrade, back up is a must

Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has announced that HTCSense.com – a cloud service for HTC Smartphones will shut down for a bit to make room for improvements.


In the statement released on their website, HTC said:

“Until the new services are ready, features previously available on HTCSense.com will be shutting down. If you have been using HTCSense.com to sync your Contacts, Messages, Footprints or Call History, you can download your data through April 30, 2012. After April 30, your data will no longer be accessible and will be deleted.”

So be warned and be informed as well, you have until the end of April to download all your data in their cloud and wait for HTC to announce the availability of the service again.

Here are the procedure in downloading your data:

  • Goto HTC Sense website
  • Log in with your username and password
  • Click the ‘Download‘ button in the Account Overview section
  • A .zip file containing your data will be downloaded to your computer for easy viewing
