Make Payments Cashless at Ministop with PayMaya QR

Launched recently, the PayMaya QR payments feature lets Filipino mobile users make cashless shopping from Ministop.

No longer do customers have to retrieve lower bills from their wallets, nor supply spare change. The PayMaya app enables the store-to-store QR code scanning for instant, seamless payments.

Making payments more secure

Paolo Azzola, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director at PayMaya Philippines, shares their excitement in launching the Paymaya QR payment technology. Through the initiative, he adds, they offer not just a more convenient payment method, but bring the concept of digital economy to the country.

In most industries, the future is digital, adds Ministop General Manager Thelma Roxas-Jacob. With assistance from PayMaya QR, Ministop’s step in making cashless payments possible helps ensure more secure payments. In addition, the move helps promote quicker and hassle-free payments for their customers.

Hassle-free payments

The QR-based payments technology certainly marks a first-of-its-kind implementation in the country. Through this initiative, the future looks bright for mainstream industries around the country to adopt digital payment methods.

After scanning a QR code with their mobile phones, consumers can make instant, seamless payments. On the other hand, retailers can do away with point-of-sale systems to accept digital payments from customers.

Apart from Smart Stores, and commercial establishments in cashless cities like Muntinlupa and Malabon, Ministop is the latest retail merchant to adopt PayMaya’s QR-based payment technology. On the other hand, the feature also rolled out earlier to partner schools like STI, and in popular merchants within WiFi-enabled SmartSpots in key cities such as Baguio, Cebu, and Davao.

Through ?partnerships with merchants like Ministop and PayMaya-powered campaigns towards digital payments adoption, Azzola notes, the brand seeks to build a cashless ecosystem nationwide. Moreover, this initiative aims to propel the Philippines in the race towards a global, digital economy.
